About The Space Of Installation Art In China In The 1990's

The subject of this paper is about the space of installation art in China in the 1990's. Installation art is a kind of creative arts and display mode with new meaning that is a way to rebuild ready-made goods---through dislocation, hanging, cutting, collection and stack, and put it in the new show places. The English expression is"the art of assemblage".According to the characteristics of installation art which is divided into two spaces, one is the physical space based on physical existence—the form of expression of the goods, the other is the psychological space which is focuses on the expression of one's thought and exchanges—the concepts express of the goods. According to the relationship of the two space, selected is after 1990's, namely "85 trendy" later, before 2000 Shanghai Biennale, turning period of Chinese contemporary art works for analysis. Aiming at the development situation of this period of installation art from the physical space and psychological space of exploration, conscientiously according to the artist's installation works for example, from two aspects of theory and practice are discussed that exactly in installation art, these two spaces which is more important?
