Clarifying Face Attractiveness By The Role Of Skin, Features And Proportion

Face is a special aesthetic object. The evaluation of face attractiveness is often occurred in daily life. In human society, individual with attractive face has more favorable social living condition. There are two views in the study of face attractiveness. One thinks the evaluation of face attractiveness was with a unified standards, the other thinked age, race, area impacted on the evaluation of face attractiveness. This paper argues that some parameters in the uniform standards of the first kind of trend can be changed in a special circumstances, with the variation of attractiveness referred in the second kind of trend.but the rule of face beauty perceiving was stable.Therefore,the paper attempted to explore the impact of skin, facial features and facial proportion on face attractiveness to resolve the debate.Firstly,270 standard male face photoes were evaluated by attractiveness and screenedSencondly, the contribution of skin and features were to discuss,and we found skin and eye had the greatest impact on face attractivenessThirdly, to explore the influence of proportion, we let subjects regulate the location and size of high (low) attractive features in high (low)attractive face outline to make the face most attractive.Then we found a variety of proportion formed in features or feature between coutour were impacted on face attractiveness.Fourthly,we add scars.moles on normal face,or change the size and location of feature to uglify face.Then we found scars and moles has the greatest impact on face uglification, eye and face shape were another important factor.The impact of proportions on face attractiveness was weakest.Through the above researches, following conclusions were obtained:(1)There are consistent aesthetic standards on face. Consistency coefficients of aesthetic evaluation on face and face parts were reached more than 0.8, mostly in 0.9 above.(2)Good skin attracts people most.(3)Good facial features, especially the big eyes and a little thin face, also attractive.(4)Attractive face not only require good facial features, but also need to be in the right position on good face shape.
