Based on the principle of "force against others", Hayek's new viewpoint towards liberty emphasis the private ownership based initiative action of the market mechanism to the allocate resource in the field of political economy. It's a kind of economic trends which defend the capitalism and a support for international monopoly socialist from a deeper view. Thus, the nature of this viewpoint can not be separated from the Capitalism exploitation. As a representative of neo-liberalism and an extreme economic liberals, Hayek spent his whole life defend his freedom theory. In his view, freedom means free of others'arbitrary will, which is different from political freedom, "inner" or "metaphysical" freedom and "the substantial ability of what I want to do" in the central meaning. He thought that the relationship between person and person, force and being forced will manifest only under the regulation of law and spontaneous orders. From this meaning, Hayek emphasized that way to achieve freedom must be based on the rule of law, limited government intervention as a subsidiary, the level of social security instead of "welfare state" as the basis, free market economy as the carrier. He continued part of the economic thought from the Adam Smiths's free competition, the negative freedom thought form the traditional English old freedom and the constitutional thought of "limited government power". So a series of proposals to improve the social contradictions at that time came up to construct Hayek's ideal realm of freedom, which could promote the economic globalization and maintain the world peace development. However, from the viewpoint of Marxism, it's undeniable that Hayek's freedom theory suffers some limitation. Marx thought that freedom must base on the recognition to the certainty and the human's liberty is limited by objective certainty. What's more, the economic factor is the fundamental factor of the existence of society and the individual and other's liberty were determined by the actual occupant of production materials. Hayek avoided the relationship between human and nature and denied the objective certainty. What he constructed for his freedom-the rule of law-lack of class character. The reason is that his liberty theory supported for the maintenance of international monopoly capitalism, whose nature is to exploit and enslave people. In Marx's view, only by eliminating the difference between persons could will free of forcing others. Thus human could develop in an all-round way to a free world.Hayek's theory of liberty plays an important role in the whole of Western liberalism. We could, by intensive study, provide abundant theory resource to exploring our national market mechanism, economic globalization and the development of world economy. Besides it has an importance significance to the development of our social order in future.
