A Empirical And Psychoanalytic Research On The Persona Of Father Image

Father has a special significance to human. Since ancient times there is a special feeling for father in the human mind. The research subject of father, with its long history, has become a new concern of the time. This study chooses "structure of father image persona" as the main issue and is to reveal the component factors of father image persona. With the analysis of depth psychology, it is hoped that this study can have a breakthrough in solving real problems, and provide some theoretical basis for clinical psychology.First, questionnaires and statistical analysis of father persona structure. Fathers and non-fathers of different ages and different backgrounds were tested. The data were analyzed through exploratory factor, confirmatory factor, reliability testing and other methods. The result showed that father image persona consists of three parts:collective vision, physical and mental quality, and ego ideal. The result also verifies that the "persona father image structure" is consistent with the "human" persona structure described by Jolande Jacobi..Second, implicit experimental study on the structure of the father image persona. Similarly, subjects of different ages and different backgrounds were tested in implicit experiment for research of the unconscious. The result showed that father image persona consists of collective vision, physical and mental quality, and ego ideal, which is consistent with the results of the questionnaire. However, there were significant changes in the order of factors. The father image persona structure at the unconscious level is different with that at the conscious level. The society should realize that, in the face of the outside world, fathers ignore the unconscious needs and are overly assimilated by the society, will it be possible to preserve the integrity of father mind. Only by this will it be possible to maintain the integrity of father mind.
