A Brief Analysis Of The Characteristics And Contributing Factors Of China's "after 80s" Contemporary Painting

"After 80s"contemporary painting is shown on the stage with a brand new look ,causing the attention of people. Their flowery colour works is composed flexibly. The self-centered mode, cute caricature cartoon image and surreal expression have a pure power on the vision . They pay more attention to the individual experience, showing the growing process of the mind, the micro imprinting performance of the people and things around. Their ideas are separated from traditional ideas with an apparent distance, making them controversial. In this passage ,the writer described the art characteristics of this generation analyzed its contributing factors.In the first part of this paper,the writer made a simple definition of what is contemporary art and made simple reviews of the major events related with contemporary art in three decades of China .Based on the the analysis of main events and phenomena ,we drew a conclusion : various artistic phenomena is closely related with the contemporary social development background ;it is the reflection of time.In the second part of this paper ,the wrier mainly described characteristics of "after 80s" generation, and made a brief narration of their representative artists and works. Although these works are extraordinary splendour but they are still like a family palm with common characteristics. In the second part of this chapter ,the writer summarized the art characteristics of their works. Through analyzing the theme they focused on while they are creating , it was concluded: in performance of the content ,they used the style of "microscopic narrative, the pleasure narrative"and abandoned the "grand narrative". They pay attention to personal feeling and self expression of emotion. On the technique of expression, there is a trend of planation ,cartoonation and initialization.In the third part of the thesis, causes of "after 80s" art are discussed . At the beginning, "after 80s" growth of the social background is analyzed. As beloved one-child generation,they formed the self-centered perspective in children's period . In their growing stage in the1990s, China's rapid economic development and social structure transformation had the biggest influence on them. In order to adapt to this drastic changes, they formed their "doubts, rebellious, avoid responsibility" character traits. In the consumer age, video, images of visual flood which is also called "the map reading age", they are the most tolerant ones who accepted this culture. That is why they use great quantities of pictures, cartoon images in art creation . In the second part of this chapter, the writer discussed alone the influence the art market had on them in the consumer age. Then lots of capital was transformed to artwork investment , resulting in an overheating market, which brought some negative influence on their creation. Because of zhang xiaogang, Fang lijun, Wang Yu and a number of successful contemporary artists'influence, creation appears utilitarian phenomenon, to compromise market, to schema and to chase too simple symbols and forms. Such creation environmental psychology easily led to desertification in artist's spiritual world , and art spiritual dimension of works was diluted.The artists' growth of each generation requires time and environment, We can see "after 80s" generation is the energetic generation, the most potential generation through analysis. Although there are some shortcomings in their extraordinary splendour colorful works,we believe that the smart, sensitive"after 80s"generation will recognize their deficiencies and make corrections, creating more splendid art works.
