The traditional language form of watercolor painting refers to the utilization of traditional techniques, and the shade of color and pigment of drawings, which is the essential language form for watercolor painting. Modern material is an application of integrated material in the development of modern watercolor painting, including many new materials."Abandonment"and"integration"is a contradictory unity."Abandonment"refers to get rid of those old materials and unsuitable factors for the development of watercolor painting."Integration"refers to a kind of combination between traditional forms of watercolor painting and modern materials. It is advantageous for development and improvement of watercolor painting, as well as technique development of watercolor painting, which is a new tendency of diversification development of watercolor painting.Although the traditional watercolor techniques and materials utilization at that time appear to be advanced and widely popular, with the development of era, those progressive expression forms at that time have been forgotten in modern. People have also changed their aesthetic ideas. Artists pursue innovation and personalized development, which formed a further study for new techniques and materials. The utilization of modern material in watercolor painting has formed new expression forms and material utilization among various paintings. Although they appear to be an improvement from the externality, in fact the internality is a kind of combination between"abandonment"and"integration"in the history of watercolor painting. The traditional language of watercolor painting does not contradict with the utilization of modern material. We can not hold the same book every day to read for several dozens years, as the redundant movement can not make people to develop new ways of thinking. The fact is same to the development of watercolor painting. Each painting is the same pattern, just like being copied. So the development of watercolor painting will be faced with crisis. Art is not static. Each artist should improve his own thinking ability and creative ability continuously, so that watercolor painting will develop toward a better tomorrow.
