Since oil painting was introduced into china in the early 20th century,it experiences an exploration process of blending with indigenous culture.In this process,the formal language as the painting's manifestation formspreads out the unique features in modern painting art.This article starts from a single case and make a close study on theunique formal language in the painting arts, which in order to finds out theuniqueness of integration between oil painting and the element of chinesetradition culture.Because of the large use of the traditional Chinese cultureresources in modern painting,it makes the mode of creation and artlanguage of Chinese paintings to become rich and diversified after thecultural revolution.This article mainly elaborates from the seven aspects.Firstly,tosummarize the background, purpose and significance of the selected topicand make a macroscopical generalization. Sceondly, starting from thesocial background of the cultural revolution , to find out the developmentsituation of the new formal language of Chinese contemporary paintings ,and systematiclly elaborate the background factors and prerequisite thatpromote the development of chinese contemporary paintings. Thirdly, starting from the innovative ways of oil painting's form language to findout the innovation in points of the formal language, which is thecontemporary paintings' absorbing and another explanation to the nationalspirit and traditional culture Fourth, to study the rich and varied rhetorictechnique from the rhetoric of the Chinese contemporary formal language.The artists widely use the means such as substitution,collage and banterand so on ,to introduce the symbols which is rich in Chinese flavour intothe creation of modern painting. They not only concern about the history,folk and resources , but focus more attention to personalization andpurification of arts' formal language. Not only to reuse resources oftraditional art, but highlight the new visual experience and subvert thetraditional aesthetic values. Fifth, synthesizing the views of famouscontemporary critics on the new formal language and making referenceand analysis, to find out some valuable innovation language. Sixth, tomake instance research on the local artists in Hunan province, visit somelocal artists and feel the unique artistic features in their art works. Seventh,from the side to find out the problems coming from the paintinginnovation , simultaneously analyze them and find out the solution.In a word, the successful handle and conversion of the modernpainting to traditional culture resources becomes the innovative initiativesof the painting's formal language. This also verifies the vigorous andstrong vitality and capacity of the traditional culture. At the same time ,it has found a new way for the sustainable development of the contemporarypainting and supplied a good spiritual security to accelerate the oilpainting's chinization.
