Shandong Zheng Faction "Mountain And Flowing Water" Played Version Comparative Study

This paper has summarized peculiarities of three Chinese zither scores of High Mountain and Flowing Water through contrasting three different play versions of Shandong zither performers, that is, Zhao Yuzhai, Gao Zicheng and Han Tinggui, by which more zither performers and researchers would pay close attention to more scores of Shandong zither's successors. This paper also tries to change the previous ideas which just take some successor as authentic. Finally, this paper has showed the different features and unique techniques of three zither masters, through which people could appreciate the distinctive play features and artistic attraction of different successors, and then tap the general pattern of annotating music to improve the level of performing and teaching zither.
