O.S.Lieu's Daily Life And His Career

O.S.Lieu, born in Chengguan Dinghai, Zhoushan, Zhejiang in 1888, was a famous patriotic industrialist and he actively developed national industry. He set up Suzhou Hongsheng Match factory, founded Shanghai Cement Plant, built Jiangyin Pier and Zhonghua Pier, established Zhanghua Feather and Fiber Textile Mill and Huafeng Enamel Factory and later devoted to the formation of Great Zhonghua Match Company and Zhonghua Briquette Company, which all those won him the title of "King of Match", "King of Coal ", "King of Feather and Fiber" and "King of Cement".The existing research onO.S.Lieu's career mainly focused on the development of his enterprises and his business ideas. However, if we started from perspective of life other than economics, we would find that there was still great space of existing research for discuss. Daily life could reflect one's characters, thinking habits and other things as one really was, and all these would play important roles in their career with their power.Based on the unpublished files of O.S.Lieu collected by Institute of Economics of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and other materials like the History of O.S.Lieus Enterprise, this thesis tried to discuss the influence of his daily life on the development of career, which was realized in the assistance of family, the support of his personality and social communication. In a word, these irrational factors played important roles in O.S.Lieu's career. He not only became a successful entrepreneur, but also a respected celebrity.
