Marx life-long goal to strive for the free and comprehensive development of individuals. Human development includes two aspects:the development of material production capacity and the development of mental activity. Under the promotion of science and technology, development of material production capacity has reached the extent of the rapid development in this area to some extent, squeezing the space for development of the mental activity, so that modern society is a widespread feeling that the spirit of depression. Aspiration spiritual activities have greater freedom of space, modern people's needs, so how to pursue the development of the activity of the human spirit in the reality of social conditions to become a modern society is an urgent problem to be solved.Reasonable use of free time can break a person confined to the material and production capacity bottleneck in the development, in favor of the development of the human mental activity as the main target, but also people's ability to sublimate, and ultimately toward the only way of free and full development.Of the specific content of this article is organized as follows.The first part is the introduction, mainly elaborated to increase the reality of free time here, and human development is the goal of Marx and lifelong struggle, free time is a necessary precondition of human freedom and comprehensive development, and expounded at home and abroad on Marx an overview of the free time doctrine.The second part describes the free time of the basic theory, including second and third chapters. The second chapter of which focus on the Marx's manuscript, excavation of which the theory of free time. Can be divided into two phases:the period of the "Doctoral dissertation"——"the elucidation of the emotional time" and the period of the "economics manuscripts"——"practical time concept".
