Research On Georg Lukacs' Verdinglichung Theory

Georg Lukacs, famous Hungarian philosopher and literary critic, is one of the most controversial Marxists and also revolutionary theorists who had greatest impact that time. His rich and tortuous theoretical struggle career which was up to 60 years was a microcosm of the history of international communist movement and the history of the development of Marxism at that time to some degree. His thinking is closely related to the development of the times. The raising of Lukacs'Verdinglichung Theory attracted enormous attention in the international scope of the study of Marxism. It also led to a variety of discussions and debates at the same time. Through specific analysis of Lukacs'Verdinglichung Theory, it came to the contributions and limitations of the Verdinglichung Theory to the Marxist theory and Western Marxism. And also through the study of Lukacs' Verdinglichung Theory, it came clear of the relationship of the theory and the Western Marxist Theory, evaluated the status, role and contribution of Lukacs in the history of Marxist philosophy and Western Marxist theory ovjectively.This paper is divided into six parts. Part One:Study and status quo of Lukacs' Verdinglichung Theory. It introduces the different views of the scholars at home and abroad on Lukacs'Verdinglichung Theory. It presents the meaning and value of the topic of this paper, as well as research methods and ideas.Part Two:Origin of the Verdinglichung theory. It describes the historical background of the formation period of the Verdinglichung theory from three parts, that is to say economic development, cultural change and social revolution. Combined to the complex and changing social environment, this paper focuses on the analysis of the induction of Lukacs'thinking evolution process and relationship with Marxism, Western Marxism, and does further study of his thinking. Part Three:Main content of the Verdinglichung theory. Lukacs combined the specific situation of the capitalist society back then, described the main content of the Verdinglichung theory from three important aspects such as economic, political, and awareness. He refined to various areas of social life to do the analysis to reveal the substance of capitalist society.Part Four:Differences between the Verdinglichung Theory and the Entfremdung Theory. This paper described the main content and the formation process of Marx's Entfremdung Theory. It summarizes the similarities and differences between Lukacs'Verdinglichung Theory and Marx's Entfremdung Theory. Thus it comes a conclusion that in fact, Lukacs' Verdinglichung Theory and Marx's Entfremdung Theory are essentially the same in different, and different in the same.Part Five:Contemporary value of the Verdinglichung Theory. The Verdinglichung Theory raised a new approach to study Marxism, reconstructed the basic concept of the Marxism philosophy, and summarized the history of Marxist philosophy methodological principle. It is the pioneer of Aesthetic System of Marxism. It pointed out the impact and limitations of the Verdinglichung Theory and focused on the contribution of Lukacs'Verdinglichung Theory to the Western Marxism and Marxism thus materialized the significance of the theory to the contemporary society.Part Six:Summarize the paper. It overviews Lukacs' Verdinglichung Theory and it also compliments that the theory made a positive contribution to Western Marxism and Marxism.
