Reading is a cognitive process, encode the visual input, and quickly extract thepronunciation and meaning, or directly accquire the significance from grapheme, ultimately, understand the text. The purpose of reading is to generate understanding.Readingcomprehension has two cognitive components: one is word recognition, and the other is thelanguage understanding. Chinese writing system has no clear mark of the basic readinginformation unit,is different from the Latin writing system. Many researchers has carried outmany studies on basic reading information unit, still have no unanimous conclusion, somescholars believe the word is basic reading information unit, and some think word is theunit. This study focused on three issues:(1) meta-analysis has been carried out to discuss theproblems in the existing studies about "Chinese Reading Segmentation";(2)explore theparticipants with different language proficiency reading different Segmentational Chinesesentences;(3) explore the participants reading the differernt Chinese segmentationalsentences with different difficulty. The first study is a meta-analysis about the literature of the past10years, explores theproblems in the existing studies about "Chinese Reading Segmentation", and discusses thenew direction and experimental design of the following researchs. The second study is toexplore the28students of the second grade of high school with different languageproficiency reading different segmentational conditions: no segmentation, charactersegmentation, word segmentation, setimental segmentation; The third study explores the30second grade of high school sthdents reading the different segmentational Chinesesentences, and experimental materialls' difficulty are divided into high and low types. Toexamine Which segmentational Chinese sentences is more conducive to the promotion ofreading performance, and a number of factors affect the reading performance in differentegmentational conditions. The main conclusions are:(1)Meta-analysis' results show the character segmentation, non-word segmentationsignificantly interferences with the Chinese reading performance; different participatents' types significantly affect effect value of reading performance on the chaeacter segmentation;Experimental apparatuses affects the effect value of reading performance on the wordsegmentation, the effect value of the ordinary instruments is greater than the theeye-movement tracker.(2)The character segmentational Chinese sentences interference with participatent' readingperformance; Sentimental segmentational Chinese sentences promote the participatent'reading performance.(3)The character segmentational and the word segmentational Chinese sentences with highdifficulty have no significant effect on the participatent' reading performance, the Sentimentalsegmentational sentences promote the participatent' reading performance. The charactersegmentational Chinese sentences with low difficulty significantly interfere with theparticipatent' reading performance, the Sentimental segmentational sentences promote theparticipatent' reading performance.
