When the twelve sections version of Auspicious omens for dynastic revival appeared in2009, new questions came out. Is this scroll was the original painting in the history? Some other problems also need to be rethought:How did Auspicious omens for dynastic revival created? Why does it has so many versions survived around the world and history? What can these different versions of Auspicious omens for dynastic revival tell us?This is a research on Auspicious omens for dynastic revival and some problems about it. Here we're starting from Dong Qi-chang's opinion on this painting and choosing Qiu Ying's copy of Auspicious omens for dynastic revival as a reference. By comparing the picture and eulogy among the different versions, we'll firstly confirm the authentic of the twelve sections version. Then we can come into the historical discussion of Auspicious omens for dynastic revival in order to discover the context when it was finished, recognize the understanding and misunderstanding cross its spread.Possibly, Auspicious omens for dynastic revival will provide a new point of view for us to re-study the paintings which are considered as "political propaganda paintings" and "narrative paintings". Maybe these paintings are not all the same, they may not even as same as we thought before.
