Hu Hai-quan Suona Playing Art Research

Mr.Hu Haiquan specialized in Suona horn has a distinguished reputation in the field of China music. He devoted his whole energy to the Suona horn art for Suona horn art means soul to him. His contribution to the development of Suona horn art is too great to be measured. I have been learned perfomance of Suona horn from Mr.Hu,and exposed to his inculcation for many years.In order to complete Hu Haiquan's Performing Art-depth study and exploration, the thesis comes from my achievement of learning, the summary and research of Mr.Hu's writings and interviews with other scholars.Generation after generation of artists inherited, created and developed Suona horn art, so it had various developments and changes in different history period. Artists contributed to Suona horn art in different ways, all their efforts are valuable. Mr.Hu Haiquan is such a a highly respected artist who has inherited traditions and developed new fields in Suona horn art. His performing art has become an importance genre in Suona horn field. The thesis aim to inherit Mr, Hu's art life by research and exploration to his theory in Suon horn peforming. Four parts are included in the thesis:Charpter I focus on the basic of Suona horn performing art of Hu Haiquan. I will discuss the forming process of his performing art by the descriptions of different experiences in his art life. His art life consist of experiences in Drumming group, the Luyi sound organization, Chinese Song and Dance Ensemble, Film Orchestra.Charpter II describe Hu Haiquan's innovation and development in his technique of Suona horn performing and reform of Instrument shapes by showing of Mr.Hu' s art practice.CharpterIII introduce Hu Haiquan's creative work in performing and composition of Suona horn, tube instrument and other Ethnic wind instruments. And introduce many works created, recomposed and collected by Mr.Hu. Suona horn concerto "Su Wu" is analysed especially in this charpter.Charpert IV summarized Hu Haiquan's traits of performing art shaped by his long art practice, and the practical significance of promoting Mr. Hu' s Suona horn performing art.This thesis is also a summary and collection of my teacher's art life. I hope this thesis will be helpful for others in Suona horn performing, composition and performing skills. I wish my thesis will boost the development of Suona art business.
