Of Southeast Guizhou Xijiang Miao Village "jump Flower"

This paper focuses on the study of Tiaohua, known as a kind of dancing performed on the wedding in the Xijiang Miao Village, drawing on the basis of the results of previous studies with the assistance of literature data, local legends and fieldwork report.This paper employs research methods of literature, fieldwork, interdisciplinary and cultural interpretation theories, in the hope of describing the scene of Tiaohua dancing, carrying out morphological analysis, as well as its relationship with social history. Therefore, the paper attempts to sum up a series of characteristics of Tiaohua dancing, including cultural connotation, dance Miriam role, social significance, aesthetic characteristics, and dynamic language.Tiaohua dancing follows local traditional wedding customs, which contains social attitudes, religious ideas, moral values and so on. This wedding dancing has a rich ideological heritage, provides a wealth of cultural resources for the development of the arts of Miao folk dance.This article is divided into an introduction, three chapters and the conclusion of three parts. The introduction outlines the purpose and significance of this study, and introduces research methods as well as accomplishments of the subject-related research. The first chapter introduces the scene of Tiaohua dancing, which includes a description of dancing occasion, the procedure of Tiaohua dancing and introduction of local wedding custom.The second chapter analyzes morphology of Tiaohua dancing. Firstly, it briefly introduces time and space as well as musical instrument and songs, which displays that the repertoire of dance and the occurrence of time and space are closely linked, reflecting the connection between Tiaohua dancing and farming culture and religious belief. Secondly, it studies rhythm and formation of dancing moves, which reveals the characteristics of Tiaohua dance and contributes to further research. Then, it introduces actor's costumes of this wedding dancing.The third chapter analyzes the significance of Tiaohua dancing. Combined with the data collected in field surveys, this paper attempts to reveal cultural connotations of this dancing. Firstly, it interprets cultural meaning of the wedding dancing; secondly, it discusses the role of Tiaohua dancing in the ceremony; thirdly, it analyzes the social significance of Tiaohua dancing; fourthly, it analyzes the aesthetic characteristics and dynamic languages of Tiaohua dancing.In short, this paper employs a lot of theories and research methods to make a clear understanding of the wedding dance of the Miao and traditional history and wedding custom of the Miao. On the other hand, this paper attempts to excavate and carry forward traditional dancing art, provides material for dancing creation and enriches dance culture.
