The Yue Opera is a famous local opera, and was selected as national level's intangible cultural heritage. After hundreds of years of development, the performances of the Yue Opera's artistic form also experienced a transformed course, from the all-male class, male and female mixed class, to women's class. As a response to the literature and art policy of the new period, In the early1950s, people broke the old tradition that all the actors should be actress, tried to mix actors and actresses together. In the process of the reform,"how can an actor to perform a role which should be only performed by the actress" become the key to this reform. However, the issue still remains controversial today. To this issue, this article aims to introduce the development of singing problems of the Yue opera on the base of study and research, at the same time, hoping to find a better way to solve the "tradition to modern" problems.
