Zygmunt Bauman is English Polish sociologist, his study on modernity andpost-modernity has aroused the attention of the global sociologist and culturalresearcher. Bauman's academic research is mainly involved in the political,economical, social, cultural fields and so on. Bauman departure from the Marxistposition, current living circumstances of human insight, and theoretical criticism andcultural criticism for the reconstruction of the human spirit to their homes and topromote the harmonious development of society play a very important role. Baumanunique perspective and ideological dimensions of the double critical of modernityand post modernity has opened a new research paradigm, this paradigm can lead usto recognize the past and the present social situation.Domestic and foreign scholars have thought Bauman academic research hasfocused on social and political aspects, and has made a great achievement. However,the researchers among the few people specialize in the Bauman writings of culturaltheory, which is also of this writing, an opportunity. Through the study of Bauman'stheory of culture, we can clearly understand the complex cultural realities, specified ina more harmonious path of development and cultural development.This paper systematically analyzes the Bauman's academic works, sought topresent the Bauman's theory of culture. The article is divided into three parts of thepreamble, the text and the conclusion. The preamble section provides an overview ofBauman's life, the Bauman's cultural theory of current research and the meaning ofstudy Bauman's cultural theory and the research framework. Body part of the firstchapter clarifies Bauman Analysis of the multi-level of cultural and thinking,including the concept of culture as the structure of the culture, and Bauman,Reflections on the cultural function. The second chapter discusses the Baumanattaches great importance to cultural practices, that is, as the culture of practice, Bauman on "cultural identity" look and criticism of cultural assimilation. Chapter III,the Bauman investigation and critique of multiculturalism, including the Bauman'sattitude to multiculturalism, as well as Bauman's own culture salvation point of view:the pursuit of cultural universality. Chapter4discusses the Bauman scrutiny andcriticism of postmodern culture, including Bauman's criticism of consumer culture,the examination of sex culture and the scrutiny of the crisis of culture. Chapterexpressed the Bauman cultural contribution to the theory and practical significance.The conclusion is an all-inclusive overviews of Bauman's cultural theory.
