A Study Of The Ji Du Shi Composed By Wen Tianxiang

As a particular phenomenon in the history of literature of China, cento literature quoted linguistic units from various types of existing versions, such as poetry, writing and lyric to make up new text. This kind of literary style came out early; however, it experienced a long time to develop. The main reasons lie as followings: firstly, composing Chinese cento itself is a great difficulty. Secondly, composing cento literature needs to build on large excellent literature works. Thirdly, the ways of composing cento literature is hold as playing at words and copying others'works so it is unvalued and opposed by people. Although many opposite voice heard, there have already been some poets in Song Dynasty to compose cento literature and among them the Ji du shi composed by Wen Tianxiang(文天祥)would be the peak in all cento poems and literature works at that time.From ancient times to modern times, numerous scholars have highly approval of the Ji Du Shi(《集杜诗》)composed by Wen Tian-xiang. It has been further studied by many people from many different views as well. However, their studies were focused on the analysis of artistic features and the comparison study between Wen Tian-xiang and Du fu(杜甫). In general, the study versions appeared relatively narrow and it was hard to have a deeper research. Therefore, this thesis based on absorbing predecessors'study achievement, fully using modern literary theories to have a newly review the characteristics and values of the Ji Du Shi(《集杜诗》) composed by Wen Tianxiang. The literature theories including text theory, Hermeneutics, aesthetics of reception and intersexuality and so on will be involved. Through applying these literary theories, we will have a further research of the Ji du shi in many ways, and then through analyzing the Ji Du Shi (《集杜诗》)expand to the whole study of Chinese cento. This thesis aims to find the regular patterns which would be a great significance for the study of Chinese cento.The main content of the thesis consists the following four parts; the first chapter gives a general introduction of the development of Chinese cento and the second chapter is about Wen Tian-xiang and the Ji du shi. From the perspective of aesthetics of reception, Wen Tian-xiang and Dufu will be analyzed in chapter three, and at last, the great values of the Ji Du Shi(《集杜诗》) would be stated from the angle of text theory.
