Positive emotions play a very vital role in social communications of the civilized society. The study aims at exploring the developmental level of the primary students'emotional understanding. The study consists of two parts. The first study focuses on the implicit experimental study on primary students'emotional understanding, which includes 6 dimensions: understanding of the emotional regulation in view of desires, beliefs, adjusting of the experienced emotions, understanding of the real emotion, understanding of the mixed nature of emotions and of the moral or social emotions. They are used to assess the understanding level of the primary students'. Each dimension contains two stories to assess self and other's emotional recognition. The second study is designed to examine the students'language level on understanding emotions, as the assistant study to the first study.96 primary students were taken part in the experiment, including 32 of grade 2, 32 of grade 4 and 32 of grade 6. And half are boys, half are girls. All of them have normal intelligence, and take part in the study the first time. The following conclusions are made in this study:1.In all of the dimensions, the implicit emotion priming was detected.2.The desire and morality emotional understanding are in a stable level in primary period. But the real, belief, regulation and mixed emotional recognition are in the process of continuous development and improvement. 3.The girls'implicit emotional understanding level and the language level are higher than those of the boys.4.The implicit emotional priming of belief shows that the primary students of grade 2 can experience the correct emotion, but they can't realize and express the correct emotion.
