The Influence Of Subliminal Priming Style On Implicit Ag-Gressiveness Of Senior High School Students

This article studied the implicit aggressiveness of senior high school students and thefeasibility of their intervention by subliminal priming procedure. The whole study is sepa-rated into two parts.The implicit aggressiveness of148senior high school student was measured by Impli-cit Association Test (IAT) and the effect size of IAT in males and females was compared inthe first study. The results indicated that the effect size of IAT in all students is of highlystatistical significance (p=0.000), but the sex difference in the effect size of IAT is not ofstatistical significance (p=0.157). Moreover, the age difference in effect size of IAT is notof statistical significance either (p=0.157).In the second study,53males and52females placed in the group of subliminal altruisticpriming or the group of subliminal aggressive priming or the group of subliminal neutralpriming were studied to investigate the feasibility of changing the Implicit aggressiveness bySubliminal priming technique, and thus the plasticity of implicit aggressiveness were be in-spected and verified. The results showed: after the intervention, participants of the subliminalaltruistic priming group showed a decline of their implicit aggressiveness, while the partici-pants in the subliminal aggressive priming group and those in the subliminal neutral priminggroup showed remarkable implicit aggressiveness, all this showed that the implicit aggres-siveness can be restrained through the subliminal altruistic priming technique for the mo-ment.From what has been discussed above, the conclusions can be led that:(1)Implicitaggressiveness is prevalent among senior high school student.(2) There are not sex differ-ence and age difference of implicit aggressiveness.(3) Participants of the subliminal al-truistic priming group showed a decline of their implicit aggressiveness, while the partici-pants in the subliminal aggressive priming group and those in the subliminal neutral prim-ing group showed remarkable implicit aggressiveness. This showed that the Subliminal priming technique is effective to change the implicit aggressiveness of the males and fe-males, the implicit aggressiveness of the senior high school student is plastic. This part isthe innovative point of this study.(4) The impact of subliminal altruistic priming on impli-cit aggressiveness is same for both males and females.
