A Sing And Teaching Study Of Amina's Main Aria In La Sonnambula Created By Bellini

Bellini is one of three respresentative figures of the Second Golden Age of the Bel Canto in nineteenth century. His life is short but prolific. Bellini creates 10 operas in his short life span of 33 years and three of them still are on performance in theatres around the world. As time goes on, they are becoming more and more classic, represented by the La Sonnambula. The La Sonnambula is famous for its clear plot and fluent graceful melody, and several arias of feminine lead are even seen as the repertoire of a concert by vocalists. Based on the aria, this paper is to analyze the aria singing and the relationships of character's moulds by means of considering recitative from angle of Amina's aria in accordance with background and style of creation. Besides, some classic characters of creation and practical singing and usage of aria are also analyzed in this thesis, and the coloratura singing of aria in opera will be fatherly discussed in particular. Based on such these analyses, this thesis aims at coming to a conclusion as follows: to get the main singing style and character of personage in Bellini's opera, to help vocalist understand the article deeply, to offer some useful helps and references for works-understanding and practical teaching & singing of vocal music.
