With the rapid development of world economic integration, especially after our country joining WTO, as well as the2008Beijing Olympic games, our country is more widely involved in the international community, and countries around the world in the political, economic, and cultural exchanges have become increasingly frequent. Society for English talents demand appears diversification trend. Single English major and single skill has been unable to meet the needs of the market economy. Social development needs a lot of compound talents who know English and professional knowledge. Foreign language teaching with the development of the society began to pay attention to how to cultivate compound talents, how to improve the students'English practical ability. Based on the specific purposes of learning English, the traditional general English (EGP) has been unable to meet the special requirements of English society. So in our country started teaching reform climax from general English (EGP) into English for specific purposes (ESP) especially, with the cultivation of students'practical ability as the goal of vocational English education in college.However, as a English teachers in Vocational College, in the long term of English teaching, I found English teaching has not been able to fully comply with the market demand of students'English ability and existed several problems, for instance,1. ESP learning needs are more voice and less response;2. Students are poor study and not active to it;3. The teaching goal is single, curriculum is unreasonable, teaching model is backward;4. ESP teachers are lack. Based on this situation, in order to understanding ESP teaching further, choosing Hebi College of Vocation and Technology as an example and using questionnaire and interview method, I made a analysis from students, teachers, teaching materials, curriculum and other aspects, then the paper out forward some problems.According to the survey, now Vocational College ESP teaching exists many problems. If we want to get rid of the current English teaching difficulties to vocational college, based on the main reason of the formation, we should improve the awareness of the importance of ESP education, strengthen ESP education macro management and classified guidance, promote the reform of ESP curriculum, teaching materials, teaching methods and evaluation system and strengthen the construction of teachers.Applying them together and forming three-dimensional reform management, we can reverse the current embarrassing situation on ESP teaching, we can train students better in the future work of the English application ability, we can lay a good foundation for students to meet the world modernization, the challenge of economic globalization. The article is mainly composed of four parts. The first part is an introduction, mainly introduces the purpose, significance of this topic, feasibility and related domestic research. The second part introduces the ESP relevant knowledge of teaching, the theory and application of ESP course design and summarizes the development history of ESP, which provides a theoretical basis for the selection. In the third part, in the form of the questionnaire and interview, making a case analysis of ESP teaching to Hebi College of Vocation and Technology, reflects truthfully problems of ESP teaching in Vocational Colleges; The fourth part, according to problems of ESP teaching in Vocational Colleges, give some solutions and suggestions. Finally, I point out the survey and the inadequacies of the study, I hope I can provide a little information available to further improve the ESP teaching through the investigation and study of ESP teaching.
