The folklores of toponyms are one of the branches of Mongolian folklores. In the case of Jirim, there are many legendary stories centering around its natural sceneries, scenic spots of historical significance, villages and roads. To some extent, as the vehicle of Mongolian culture, these folklores contain rich implications of Mongolian tangible, intangible, behavioral and institutional cultures and reflect social life, historical heritage, religious belief and way of thinking of the local people. It can be seen from the stories the Nomadic, Farming, Shamanistic and Buddhist culture of Jirim Mongolians.This thesis consists of introduction, body section and conclusion. Introduction mainly tells the purpose and significance of the paper, research methods and the survey of the relevant research. The body section is composed of three chapters. Chapter One explains that the folklores of Jirim toponyms inherit and develop traditional Mongolian culture from the traces of epic tales, traditional customs and ancient economic and cultural development. Chapter Two points out that the religious factors of legendary toponyms of Jirim include the traces of Shamanism, Buddhism and the conflict and integration of the two religions. Chapter Three discusses the influence of foreign culture reflected in the folklores of Jirim toponyms. The conclusion gives the summary of the thesis.Based on the extensive collection of relevant references, this thesis employs the research methods of Folklore and Culturology to explore the cultural implications of the legendary toponyms of Jirim. Through the above analysis, this thesis attempts to reveal local people's love for their homeland and their aesthetic emotion to their ethnic culture.
