Rooted in the theory of emotional intelligence, the authors introduced the concept of "meta" into the field of emotion research, so they coined "meta-emotion". Generally, most people believed that the theory of meta-emotion is created by Salovey and his colleagues in1990, who is the University of New Hampshire psychologist, based on the Model of Emotional Intelligence and meta-consciousness research. The emergence of the theory of meta-emotion in just20years time, but its rapid development caused widespread concern and attention of the community and the public. The college is a critical period of development of the students'bodies and minds, is also an important period of the acquisition of knowledge and skills. The emotion of the fluctuation may play an important influence in their learning, life and physical and mental development. So to enhance students'attention and cultivation of meta-emotion can not only promote them to better study, live, also can promote the healthy development of their bodies and minds. In this study, we put college students as the research object, comb the production, formation and development of meta-emotion, and discriminate the meta-emotion of the connotation and denotation. Based on the Professor Xu's theory of emotional intelligence, we define the meta-emotion accurately and reasonably and think that meta-emotion is the ability of individual processing and handling their emotional problems and emotional issues. Learning from previous studies, interviews and survey methods, we prepared Meta-Emotion Questionnaire of the College Students, selected from different universities in different grades in college students as subjects, through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, and formed the formal Meta-Emotion Questionnaire of the College Students questionnaire. Use of the formal Meta-Emotion Questionnaire of the College Students, the general characteristics and development status of college students was investigated. Use of the formal Meta-Emotion Questionnaire of the College Students and symptom Checklist90, the healith of college students was also investigated. The results show that:(1) The preparation of Meta-Emotion Questionnaire of the College Students has high reliability and validity. Through exploratory factor analysis to verify the meta-emotions of college students can be divided into three dimensions, it can explain the total variation of51.608%. The Cologne Bach a is0.795, split-half reliability is.800, and the test-retest reliability is0.620; Through confirmatory factor analysis, we can get the data of Students'meta-emotion CMIN/DF value of2.175; the maximum value among CFI, TLI, GFI, AGFI is0.920, the minimum is0.909, the value of RMSEA is0.053. Above all, data indicating that the model of questionnaire is good.(2) Using the "Meta-Emotion Questionnaire of the College Students" for the measurement tools, we surveyed731students of six universities in Henan Province. The results found that the overall level of meta-emotion of college students is relatively low, their gender, grade, whether in only children, professional, academic, residence, whether as the class cadre, family economic situation and parents teaching variables were significantly different.(3) Using the "Meta-Emotion Questionnaire of the College Students" and "symptom Checklist90" as the measurement tools to investigate the relationship between the meta-emotion and psychological health of college students. We further analyze the meta-emotion college students to predict effect of the college students of mental health, results showed that the relationship of meta-emotion of college students and SCL was a negative correlation, i.e., the higher level meta-emotion the better mental health and the former to the latter have apparent prediction function.
