On China-eu Relations, The Greens Factors

Sino-Euro ties are one of the most important parts in terms of China's foreign relations. Generally speaking, the development of Sino-Euro ties is relatively stable,which plays an important part in keeping the peace of the world as well as the bilateral cooperation. Whereas with the rising of the Greens in Europe, especially when the Greens become the third largest political group,the EGP can impose some influence on the rules or regulations adopted by EU and resolutions like trade agreement with China discussed in the European Parliament, especially about human rights and Tibet etc. Thus the EGP will affect the sound and rapid development of Sino-Euro ties. Though it is good as a whole, Sino-Euro ties still face some challenges and fractions. For instance, EU continually refuses to accept China's position as market status. And EU hasn't promised to eliminate the weapons'embargo to China. Besides, EU denounces China's not carrying out promises according to WTO and meet Dalai Lama frequently. All these mentioned above have become obstacles to develop Sino-Euro ties in depth. Despite of the importance of the mutual relationship, discrepancies between value recognitions and the frequent negative actions against China by EU damaged the mutual trust between China and EU. The writer thinks that we should not use only several words to explain the problems existing in Sino-Euro ties. Deeper reasons should be taken into account. This paper will discuss Sino-Euro ties from the stance of the European Greens Party (EGP), which will enhance the development of Sino-Euro ties.
