The Operation Mechanism Of American Think Tanks And Its Enlightenment To The Development Of Chinese Think Tanks

The modern think tanks came into being around WWII, gained remarkable development in the 1970s-80s and reached a period of great prosperity today. In the current world, think tanks have become a symbol of the modern countries. American is the most developed country in terms of think tanks, which play a vital role in the American policy-making. This thesis started with the general introduction of think tanks, and summarized the functions of the American think tanks in the American policy-making process and the operation mechanism of the American think tanks. And by comparison, this thesis analyzed the status quo and features of the Chinese think tanks, and pointed out the existing defects in the Chinese think tanks. In addition, it also presented specific ways and measure to solve the problems. The author tried to comprehensively analyze the status quo of the Chinese and American think tanks, deeply research into the problems the Chinese think tanks are facing, so as to seek a development road for the Chinese think tanks. As a result, think tanks can provide beneficial suggestions to enable our government to promote democracy and make more scientific policies.
