Recent years,frequent public crisis at home and abroad to China is concerned.China has undergone a"SARS",earthquake,ice storm,the Weng'an incident,melamine milk powder incident,"a flow"and so on.At present,the subject of public crisis management is government,but with the development of technology ,progress of time, the public's right to know is increasing and with the increasing development of today's meida ,the government is facing tough challenge.The government must change strategy.Only effectively play the positive role of the media and hand media relations,can we effectively defuse the crisis. I believe that both the government and the media is a relation between cooperation and mutual restraint.This also relates to the government's image,social stability and government legitimacy.Even after"SARS",the government has taken many measures,the government and media relations have made significant improvement,such as"Wenchuan Earthquake",that is the model of government and the media's communication and collaboration.However,there are still many problems.Firstly,the research background,significance,theoretical support, research results at Home and Abroad of this paper,etc. are introduced.Secondly,concepts of public crisis ,the government and media's function and role in public crisis management,the past and present of the relation between the government and meida in public crisis management as well as foreign experience are introduced .The third part discusses the relation between the government and the meida in public crisis management.In the fourth part,the writer proposes the strategies,mainly from two angles,the government and the media.
