From the founding of new China to the great cultural revolution, it was the first time and only a large-scale to promote national labor education in China's history. "The New China's 17 Years Labor Education " was an attempt to combine Marxist theory of "education combined with productive labor "with the new China's education practice. The party and national leaders led the people to explore some new things in China's education field. From the begin to the end, an enduring impression has been formed in new China's history.The background of "The New China's 17 Years Labor Education " .First, it impacted not only by the psychological of traditional culture but also be conditioned by foreign labor education theory and practice. We have learned each other's experience for reference ,described as"make the past serve the present, make foreign things serve China"; Second, It's an exploration to break the Soviet Model, it was new departures in Marxist theory about labor education,to make Marxist theory of "education combined with productive labor " sinicization and popularization; In addition, it was an important driving forces for Mao's understanding of labor education and its functions since the founding of new China. Finally, "The New China's 17 Years Labor Education " was the need solution for solving practical problems. it's closely related to new China's political and economic conditions.From the beginning to the end, labor education lasted 17years. 1949-1956, the labor education carry out mainly by initiative and voluntary in originating period, focusing on work ethic, ability to work and the popularization of workers and peasants'working knowledge; 1957-1960, the labor education has been shaped spectacularity in climax period. The education policy that "education combined with productive labor " has been proposed ,labor education put into practice systematically. The labor education put into practice mainly by the government, focusing on labor skills training, with special emphasis to the importance of personally labor participate in industrial and agricultural. Labor education for students, intellectuals and cadres began to influence each other. By the "Great Leap Forward", there were some phenomena of labor education, such as the rapid development of schools here, the quality of school was not high, people working too much and so bad. 1960-1962, labor education into the adjustment phase. In this stage, the party and government reorientation labor education, not over-emphasize to join the labor. Because of the adjustment was not completely, with the economic difficulties and political environment influence, more and more obvious shortcomings appeared in labor education at late sixties.1963-1966, by the political struggle, labor education completely replaced by labor, leading to alienation of labor education.The implementation process of labor education took the following basic forms: First, the use of newspapers , periodicals , radio , seminars ,exhibitions and other forms to extensive publicity; Second ,to establish working models and advanced models ; Third , the measures of "Thrift production,Thrift running,Work-study " and "Go to the mountainous and rural areas,Cadre transferred,Down to class department,street,cooperatives "Finally, this paper has evaluated and thinking. I think "The New China's 17 Years Labor Education" gain a lot of achievements , but also have theoretical errors and practice deviation. But generally speaking,its significance more than its negative influence. From the history of "The New China's 17 Years Labor Education ",we can gain experience and lessons, of course, we can also review current education work for a reference and guidance significance.
