Mao Zedong’s Thought Of Building The Country Through Diligence And Thrift And Its Realistic Significance

The thought of building the country through diligence and thrift is an important thought for governing the country and a new strategic policy for the construction of China. As an important part of Mao Zedong ’s Thoughts, the thought of building the country through diligence and thrift is gradually developed based on reality of China,the theory and experience of Marxism. And it is also a precious ideological heritage left by the old generation of revolutionaries. In the period of material deprivation,the thought helped the Chinese revolution and construction overcome difficulties and made a great contribution for the success of Chinese socialist revolution. In the new stage of Chinese socialism construction, to study, insist on and expand this important thought has an important implication and significance of the times for luxury consumption in the society.In this paper, I studied Mao Zedong ’s thought of building the country through diligence and thrift from the following four aspects:The first part studied the ideological origins of the thoughts of building the country through diligence and thrift by Mao Zedong. The thought about saving by Marx is the ideological origin for the thoughts of building the country through diligence and thrift by Mao Zedong. The thoughts “hardworking in the state, thrifty at home” in Chinese traditional culture is the historical origin for the thought of building the country through diligence and thrift by Mao Zedong. And the thought of diligence and thrift developed in the stage of Chinese revolution is the direct source for the thoughts of building the country through diligence and thrift by Mao Zedong.The second part studied the background of the development of the thought of building the country through diligence and thrift by Mao Zedong. At the early stage,there was a contradiction between large-scale socialism industrialization construction of new China and the reality of poverty and backwardness of China, and some leaders among the Chinese Communist Party have the possibility of separating themselves from Chinese People. Besides, the sanctions and the imperialist blockade against China and anti-sanctions and anti-blockade by Chinese Communist Party made the construction of new China struggled. The thought of building the country through diligence and thrift by Mao Zedong was formed and well-developed in dealing with these contradictions and struggles.The third part described the main contents of the thought of building thecountry through diligence and thrift by Mao Zedong. From the perspective of economic construction, Mao Zedong pointed that conservation is one of the basic principles of socialist economy; from the perspective of party building, Mao Zedong pointed that Anti-waste and anti-corruption is the big job of whole party ", and at the same time, the thought of building the country through diligence and thrift was regarded as statecraft socialist for the socialist revolution and construction of the country.The fourth part analyzed the realistic significance of the thought of building the country through diligence and thrift by Mao Zedong. In the new era of China’s socialist construction, insisting on and expanding the thought of building the country through diligence and thrift by Mao Zedong is the urgent needs of improving the wind of Party and politics and building close relation between the party and the masses, cadres and masses; is the also urgent needs of saving resources, energy and sustainable development of the national economy, is the also urgent needs of resisting the spread of the extravagance, extravagant consumption in the society.In recent years, China’s comprehensive national strength has been improved,and people’s material life has been greatly improved, but the basic national conditions that China was still in the primary stage of socialism and has low level of productivity did not change. In this condition, only by adhering to thrifty,anti-extravagance, anti- waste and combining the thought of building the country through diligence and thrift by Mao Zedong with the socialist modernization construction, we could achieve the “two hundred years”big plan and change the“Beautiful China" Blueprint into reality.
