The Study On Mr Liu Shaoqi And His Book" On The Self -cultivation Of Party Members"

The Shaoqi's theory of self-cultivation of party member is extremely original in the development history of the Communist Party. His book "On the self–cultivation of party members"summarized the contents on the self-cultivation systematically and elaborated the meaning of self-cultivation and self-cultivation of party member. The book also pointed out the concrete method and importance of strengthening self-cultivation of the party. This paper regardedthe book as the main clue.Then,the author associated what jobs Liu Shaoqi had done and what he had suffered in different times and indicated the importance of strengthening the self-cultivation of party member.This paper can be divided into four parts in structure.The first part mainly stated the meaning of this paper, the present situation of research in domestic and overseas, the method of research used in this paper and the shortcoming of this paper.In the second Part,the author introduced the historical background of the birth of "On the self–cultivation of party members". The book was published in the early times of the Anti-Japanese War when plenty of new members joined in the party. The knowledge level of those new members was uneven and the state of their mind was complicated. MAO zedong summarized and analyzed the party's work at the Sixth Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee of our Party and realized that the premise of promoting the party's work was to strengthen the self-cultivation of the party member.With careful observation and deep thinking,combined with actual situation, Liu composed the "On the self–cultivation of party members" on purpose.In the third part, the author reviewed the historical experience of Liu and his book. The book received good comment after its accomplishment in 1939."On the self–cultivation of party members" has been put in the list of required reading in the rectification movement in Yanan and has been republished in the eve of the foundation of our country and in the most difficult time of Chinese economy. The destiny of Liu was connected closely to this book. Liu had been persecuted badly in the time of"Cultural Revolution"because this bookwas regarded as a book about feudalism, capitalism and revisionism.In the forth part,the author mainly analyzed the significance of the book "On the self–cultivation of party members" under the current conditions in the new historical time. The author emphasized that improvement of the self-cultivation of the party member is the demand of our time, and also is the main method of avoiding unhealthy phenomenon in the party.
