In these years, many detainees die in unnatural ways when they are in detentioncenters, this phenomenon has arose the whole society's concern. The unnatural death ofthe detainees not only reflects the human right in detention centers can not be guaranteedbut also severely impairs the credibility of the authorities. The unnatural death of thedetainees are caused by many elements. It includes the unreasonable management of thedetention centers' system, the inadequate supervision of the prosecution and the missing ofthe protection power to the detainees, etc.On the basic of the full and thorough analysis of the causes of unnatural death,combined with the judicial practice in the related practices, the author think that in orderto reduce or even eradicate the happening of the deaths of the detainees, the authorityshould take the protection of the human rights as guidance, specify the provision about thesecurity of the detainees in legislation, in this way, detainees can seek effective judicialassistance when their legal rights are infringed, futhermore strengthen detainees' rightsprotection mechanism. In another hand, the management mechanism of the detentioncenters should be reformed and the detention centers should be administrated by Judicialand administrative authority for the realization of neutral position of it. In addition, ourgovernment should regulate the supervision system of the detention centers bystrengthening present prosecution supervision system and strengthening social supervisoryfunction. The government should also gradually carry out detention centers' inspectionsystem to allow the public to supervise and restrict the activities of detention centers.Through improving the detention centers' supervision mechanism, realizing the detentioncenters' neutrality and strengthening the detainees' rights protection mechanism, this helpsto standardize the detention centers' regulatory activity, contribute towards the protectionof the rights of detainees, and helps to contain the unnatural death events.
