Reform and opening up especially since twentieth Century, divorce rate of China is rising with amazing speed year after year, In 1991 the total divorce registration in China was 0.831 million, increasing to 1.2129 million in 2000, the data broken through 2 million in 2007 for the first time, achieving to 2.098 million, the total divorce registration has reached 2.678 million in 2010. According to statistics, in 2010 our country already had 8 cities or areas with more than 30% divorce rate, the divorce rate of Beijing and Shanghai are the highest among them, respectively 39% and 38%, Dalian is located in the eighth with the high divorce rate of 31%. The family is the basic cell of the society; harmonious family is the foundation and fundamental of harmonious society. The high divorce rate trend must produce serious adverse effects to the development of family stability and social harmony. Insurance as a risk transfer mechanism is an efficient means of transferring risk in order to safeguarding social stability. In the background of high divorce rate, it is a society inevitable choice commercial insurance to preserving family harmony and stability, or securitizing the weak party's basic life after family breaking, marriage insurance system should be emerge as the times require. Marriage insurance system as commercial insurance system, safeguarding and stimulating marriage and family relationship in long-term stability, its existence has the important practice significance:on one hand, Marriage insurance by the means of premium to incenting long-term marriage and constraining marital behaviors, preventing the marriage into the broken as far as possible, it has very important significance on the construction of our harmonious society;on the other hand, Marriage insurance opens up a new field for the insurance market in our country as a new type of insurance, it will accelerate the pace of China's insurance industry with the world, this is the new opportunity to the development of China's insurance industry.This paper is divided into six parts to discussing our country marriage insurance system.
