At present, our country is in a transitional period of the political system and the economic structure, which brings about various social contradictions, constantly changing economic element and the distribution of the interest. Various unstable factors have made China be feed with high frequency of social crisis, which is high-frequency, multi-field and large-scale. China's public security situation is not optimistic. How to do an excellent report by a media will directly influences the government's image, make a great impact on the country's political stability and economic development, and thus be related to the survival of state power. Crisis management has become a priority in our country, and even countries, all levels of government before a new topic in the era of globalization. Media is a disseminator of information, early warning of society, government supervisors, and a major partner of crisis management organization's. Faced with the serious security situation and frequent public crisis, China's media, how to strengthen their management and improve the ability to respond to crisis with a view to play the largest role in crisis management ,has become an urgent research and problem.This article mainly contains seven parts: The first part is Introduction, which mainly introduces the purposes of research, the research method, and the relevant research at home and abroad. The second part is to clarify the public crisis, the media and media management and other basic concepts. The third part takes We chuan earthquake and the Xinjiang seventy-five incident as example, which discusses the crisis response in the public media's positive role and negative role. The part four to part six studies of Media problems and causes in the public crisis with specific case. The results from this thesis should be offered as a strategy to improve the response. The seven part is the part of conclusion which makes a summarization with the above analysis. In addition, it gives an encouraging outlook into the developing prospects of Chinese media participation in public crisis management.
