China's National Image Building By US Mainstream Media

This paper tries to study China's national image building to US by analyzing the impact of impression of US mainstream media on SINO-US relation. The study mainly selects 3 most influential and representative newspapers and magazines'report towards China as research objective, analyzing the formation and change of China's national image in the US mainstream media and the formative influences. It analyzes the formative influences from four aspects including culture differences, international situation changes, state behavior and the interaction of countries. Lastly, by analyzing the way and the impact,both positive and negative,the author expounds the important role of the China impression of US mainstream media in Sino-US relation and indicates that China should cope with US mainstream media reports rationally and objectively to shape a good image of responsible country.
