China's national issue has been long-standing. Before the founding of new China, our nation and some parts of the nation in some areas still retain serfdom and slavery, and even the remnants of primitive communal system. After the founding of new China, China's various ethnic groups have been liberated from oppression of imperialism and feudalism and bureaucrat capitalism, and achieved equality among all ethnic. But those in the economic, cultural minorities have lower levels, they enjoy the rights of national equality will be greatly restricted. This historical legacy of inequality is still national source of friction in fact. Effective policies have been have adopted in system, economy and culture under the conditions in our country to address ethnic issues. In this way our national problem has been greatly eased, and created a good environment for smooth progress of our socialist construction.Based on the analysis of the characteristics of national issues, and combined with our current status of the national issue, the text describes the national problems are facing new challenges, combined with the challenges, solving the national problem of countermeasures has been presented. In this paper, the idea of building a harmonious nation to solve the national issue has been stated. Its investment and management will been strengthened in economic development, institutional development, cultural and ethnic minority areas. In the development of several aspects the gap between the ethnic minority areas and the Han areas will be gradually narrowed. Only ethnic minority areas and other parts realize progressively t he fair and equitable development can it be substantial to solve the ethnic conflict. It is of great practical significance to solve the national issues by way of promoting national harmony.
