The Image Of America That The China Youth Daily Reported

The objective of this thesis is to analyze the national image of the United States in Chinesemedia perspectives via the content analysis methods. The object of the study is China Youth Dailywhich has larger newspaper circulation. The time of the analysis is from January2006toDecember2010. The writer described the theme that the China Youth Daily reported through theanalysis of the data, then discussed the image of the United Sates.The study found that the attitude of the China Youth Daily to the United States is objectivefrom2006to2010. The China Youth Daily showed the new changes in politics, economic,military, diplomacy, culture, education, society, science and technology, nature of the UnitedStates. But the attitude to the international relations, military and economic is negative, meanwhilethe attitude to the domestic politics, society and nature is more objective, the attitude to thescience, technology, culture and education is more positive. So the writer thinks that thenewspaper revealed all aspects of the United States, the image that the newspaper reported isrational and objective. The image that the United States showed in international stage is morearbitrary, but the United States is still an advanced example for us, especially in political systemand science, culture and science.
