Original And Development Of Darfur Issue

Darfur issue is also known as the Darfur crisis or Darfur conflict in domestic and international media and academia. Two of rebel forces in Darfur started massive rebel activities for the government ignoring the development of this area and connive the Arab militia to do the ethnic cleansing of the residents of this area, which is the starting of Darfur conflict on February2003. Those rebel activities which caused the international community's strong reaction were regarded as the worst humanitarian crisis since the21st century. At the same time, the international community has been trying their best to resolve the crisis peacefully in this region.The reason of Darfur crisis is the combination of various problems. In terms of internal contradiction in Sudan, Darfur people were opposite to the central government in history; The hatred between black African and Arab because of civil war; Marginalization of regional development due to the power struggle; The sense of nationhood was destroyed by the central government changing frequently. Ethic conflict caused by ecological deterioration; Arab people forced out foreign people and managed them improperly. All the problems make Darfur as the breading ground of violence. In terms of geographic coverage, Chard civil war of the spread make ethic boundary in Darfur clearer. Darfur that suffered from war is overburdened, because lots of refugees move into there. Darfur became the main battlefield where Libya, Chad, Sudan fight each other in because of Libya intervention. Regional situation has more and more complicated since then. There are the stages for large-scale violence conflicts in2003. This violent conflict has led to serious humanitarian disaster.The leading power and the international organization have involved in Darfur actively and promoted the peace process in there for humanitarian, oil profit, development of strategy since the outbreak of the crisis. Because Sudan and China has been cooperating in the oil field and China insists on the principle of noninterference in internal affairs, which made China being the accused object by Western society. This situation is an unprecedented challenge for the oversea development of China. In the face of international social pressure, China has made the adjustment to the policy, paid great efforts to resolve conflicts, maintain the image of the country, promoting the peace process in Darfur.The Darfur issue is a typical case of internationalization of the domestic conflict and humanitarian intervention after the Cold War. Analysis this case will help us to deepen our understanding of international political theory, especially the internationalization of the domestic conflict theory and the theory of human right and sovereign right. The internationalization of internal conflicts has become to a common phenomenon with the historical inevitability in the post-Cold War world which has the characteristics of globalization, informationization,"fragmentation" and multipolarity. The Darfur crisis also posed a challenge to the traditional principles of international law on the relationship between human rights and sovereign right and the principle of "noninterference in internal affairs".
