The purpose of English teaching is mainly to improve students'reading comprehension ability and reading speed; and then to train students'sensitiveness on language sense and their logical reasoning ability on the semantic meaning of reading materials in order to make students take better grasp and usage of the target English language. Currently, the reading comprehension teaching method used by most middle schools still focuses on training of silent reading. Students take silent reading on the reading compression passages, and in this process they take efforts to remember the grammar, semantic structure and vocabulary that appears in the reading material, and then attempt to improve reading comprehension ability by this way. This method has restricted students'autonomous learning to a large extent. This thesis proceeds from the linguistic and human brain memory function relationship, put forward the method of improving students'reading comprehension ability by training them to read aloud. And then make comparison between the experimental class and the control class through experimental method in order to explicit the relationship between English reading aloud training and the English reading comprehension ability. The research result shows that although the control class who takes silent reading can also make some improvement, but the experimental class which takes reading aloud training have got a more obvious improvement. Therefore, reading aloud can be largely used in English reading comprehension teaching procedure.
