Since Parsons has been proposed vocational guidance in 1908,when speak of career,people have known much knowledge which focusing on career management, development and planning,but the content of career is not just work,people also face with many other themes to be develope,how to play different roles well and keep balance among all areas of life development have become more and more important in today's society, so this research will consider and measure the career development from a more comprehensive perspective.Because the environment in which university faculty stays is particular, how to arrange the limited time and energy for research, teaching, management, how to study in order to keep up the times,and how to charge and deal with the relationship,marriage, family and individual leisure and so on, are problems they often face. So in this study,the author made a questionnaire on basis of literature review and structured interviews to investigate the career development status of university faculty,it included four aspects of career,which are job career development, learning and growth, marriage and family, leisure and entertainment,and each aspect was composed of five dimensions, and through test, the reliability and validity of the questionnaire were good.The questionnaire was then used to investigate and know the specific situation,difficulties and obstacles on the four aspects,which are the college faculty faced, and observed their development differences under different variables. In addition to,this study also did a series of simulation experiment. Through the statistical data analysis,it founded the following results:(1)Overall, the state of college faculty's career development was not ideal.(2)After comparising demographic variables such as gender, age, title, education, woking age, job and family situation, it founded that there were differences in college faculty's career development on these variables.(3)The simulation experiment founded that when faced with conflict situations, people placed different gender expectations, while considering their own gender, some social expectations would be eliminated, some would still show gender differences.Finally, based on the findings, this article proposed appropriate countermeasures to help college staff for better career planning, and to achieve harmonious development of personal life.
