This study measures the overall status of college students’ career developmentand the influence of its relevant affecting factors, such as demographic variables,social support, the characteristics of work and career identity on it by using the scalesof the variables, thus enriching researches of career development in EducationalPsychology and helping to enhance the pertinency and efficiency of college students’career counseling.Measuring scale of career development is composed of six dimensions: attitudeof learning and growth, behavior of learning and growth, attitude of jobdevelopment, behavior of job development, leisure and entertainment and marriageand family, which is of high validity and reliability.The result shows that: the overall level of college students’ career developmentis not so high. Among the six dimensions that are mentioned before, the maturity ofleisure and entertainment and marriage and family is higher, and the maturity oflearning and growth, behavior of job development is lower. The students withdifferent demographic characteristics are quite different in career development andits dimensions. Different social support, internship experience and career identityhave different influence on career development and its dimensions. To be morespecific, social support can affect career development and its dimensions directly andpartly by career identity. Internship experience has influence on career developmentand its dimensions fully by career identity.
