With the development of the study of the career planning, people pay moreattention to the career anchor. Professor E. H. Schein in USA first designed the theoryof career anchor. Career anchor is the vital values that people will never give up whenthey are in the dilemma of their career planning and have to make choices. Basing onE. H. Schein's theory, this article is expanded the applying field of this theory. It putsthe theory of career anchor into the career planning of college students. The reportthinks the career anchor is a developing system, which includes steady value aboutcareer, the interesting of choosing jobs and the knowing of ability by oneself. On theassumption of this theory, the author makes the career anchor inventory for GuangDong Province college students.The report gives more variation in the base of Schein's theory of career anchor.Through the deep interview about college students, we can understand the types ofcareer anchor. Considering the tradition of Chinese characteristics, the report givesone new type of career anchor named relations-oriented career. The inventoryincludes: deep interview, expert evaluation, forecast and test.By a series of analyzing on items, exploring factors, efficiency, credit and so on,the report gives the career anchor inventory. And it proves that the career anchor isvery suitable for the testing of college students.It has 53 subjects in the Career Anchor Inventory for Guang Dong CollegeStudents (formal). It includes 8 types of career anchors: Entrepreneurial, ServiceDedication, Relationship, Technical, Freedom, Challenge, Management andIndependence.Basing on the study, according to the actuality of college students' careerplanning, this report carries through applied research between career anchor of GuangDong College Students and Career Decision Making Self-efficacy. The results showthe career anchor type of Freedom only a little correlation with each dimensionality ofCareer Decision Making Self-efficacy, and the Freedom has negative forecast effectfor Profession Information Collection and Study Achievement dimensionality. So,college career counseling worker should pay more attention to the students' CareerDecision Making Self-efficacy of Freedom.
