In China, large state-owned enterprises establish vocational school(s),which is flourished on the basis of the deep culture accumulates. In the time of the planned economy, enterprises is the main force in establishing Vocational Education. With the coming of reform and opening-up, vocational and technological colleges under large state-owned enterprises is gradually becoming the important part of the whole education system,however, they were also facing a variety of crises on account of innate malnutrition. If this situation is not changed, it will be bound to cause the loss of huge amounts of vocational and technological colleges under large state-owned enterprises. Educational resources are likely to be lost and it may give rise to all kinds of social problems. So the deep analysis and systematic study on vocational and technological colleges under large state-owned enterprises are of great significance in theory and practice.This paper attempt to discuss theoretical basis of vocational and technological colleges set by state-owned enterprises,existing situation, cause analysis and case analysis in order to provided a theoretical basis and practical experience for the sustainable development of vocational and technological colleges under large state-owned enterprises.There are five chapters in this pater, and the main contents are as following:Chapter one which is the part of Introduction, explains the research background and purpose,significance, methods and the innovation of the study.Chapter two which defines the concept of large state-owned enterprises vocational school(s), etc, and elaborates on the theory of public management, public policy,education with productive labour and enterprise human resources investment,etc.Chapter three which illuminates the process of development,main achievements and existing problems and the causes for the problems.Chapter four expounds specifically on the typical cases about the pattern of cooperative development, running a school by the government and the centre of enterprise training,and not only summarized these successful experience,but also promotes them to theories. Chapter five provides some countermeasures and suggestions for the sustainable development of vocational and technological colleges under large state-owned enterprises.The study is still a macro--level and descriptive analysis, a further study is needed to make a micro-level investigation.
