The traditional education, especially the emphasis of examination-oriented education, still use "transfer - accept" mode as main classroom teaching method in our country. In this mode, the way of study is single and passive. After analyzing of junior high school biology curriculum standard, junior high school biology textbooks, and the characteristics of large-scale class teaching, we find that "transfer - accept " teaching mode can't be entirely denied in biology teaching of junior high school.To ensure students'subject position and to improve the students' learning ability, there are some students'study activities designed in almost every chapter of junior high school biology textbooks. These activities not only promote the change of teaching mode, but also provide necessary supports to facilitate the changes. These activities, such as "observation and thinking", "material analysis", "exploration" and "experiment",are designed for all the junior high school students. They put forward basic demands that all the students can meet by their efforts. At the same time, these teaching activities also have greater flexibility to adapt to different conditions of schools and different needs of students. These activities are made to teach students based on their aptitude and promote each student's full development. Thus, the success of teaching activities will be directly related to the success of the new curriculum reform.Aiming at student study activities in the junior high school biology textbooks (with observation and thinking, material analysis, research, experiment as the main research object), the teaching mode that helps promote the cultivation of students' autonomous learning was studied in the thesis.Through the investigations and interviews about current situation of students'learner autonomy in study activities, we have formed some theories on how to cultivate about cultivating ability of autonomous learning. Combining with the researcher's experience for years in high school biology teaching, this paper puts forward model for students'study activities in the biological class of junior high school. The basic operation procedures include:Situation (creating situation),Question(setting goals),Study(Studying and research), Teamwork(cooperating and communicating), Evaluating. By the long-term use of this study mode in democratic and equal harmonious learning environments, we make efforts to make students form the subject consciousness, independent study habits, and improve the ability of independent learning.The type of "independent study" process in student activities is different in various patterns of activities. Such as:Observation and Discussion:①Posing questions→②Observation→③Analysis and discussion→④Make conclusions and expressions;Information Analysis:①Posing questions→②Readings→③Analysis and discussion→④Making conclusions and expressions;Exploration:①Posing questions→②Making hypothesis→③Making a plan→④Carrying out the plan→⑤Reaching conclusions→⑥Expressing and exchanging viewsSurvey:①Selecting content and place→②Definiting goal and Selecting method→③Making a plan→④Carrying out the plan and Making a record→⑤Displaying and exchanging results. Experimental results show that the autonomous learning teaching mode in the students'activities helps to improve the students' academic achievement, learning interest as well as the ability of independent learning. Some disadvantages of the mode are also analyzed in the paper.
