Throughout all kinds of study theories in 1900s', the different viewpoints for the knowledge which is the object of study construct the foundation of the study and the study theory. Because of the tremendous transform to the viewpoint on knowledge, the study of undergraduates has changed greatly. This paper summarizes the domestic and foreign research about the study ability and analyses the study and teaching viewpoint with the new knowledge viewpoint of learning sciences. In addition, this paper defines the study ability of undergraduate afresh based on the theory and considers that study is the process of the transform for the green hand to expert, and the study ability is the integrated capacity that the study expert must possess. Because of the great difference for the study between the undergraduate and others, we consider that if undergraduates want to be experts, they must have expert knowledge, critical thinking, meta-learning capability, collaboration skills and information technology capacity.After defined and analyzed the learning capacities of students, We made an open type questionnaire to parts of college teachers and students, and the College Student Ability Questionnaire we designed divided into six dimensions, the learning concept, knowledge concept, critical thinking, meta-learning skills, collaboration skills, information technology capacity, and a total of 24 closed questions designed. By a combination of the network and On-site questionnaires, we conducted a sample survey for college students from 11 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under central government on their learning ability, to understand the current status of university students learning ability and problems. Analyzed the survey data, we deem the learning ability of students generally only at the middle level in anyone aspect of the knowledge, critical thinking, meta-learning ability, collaboration, or information technology. The following questions are existing. First, students do not form a correct view of knowledge and Learning. Second, the university students'individual discrepancy in study is very big Third, the students'learning ability are imbalance. Fourth, students'integrated learning capacity is insufficient. Learning capacities of students is generally low, reflecting our students learning ability training system flawed. In order to understand the current situation and the problems of the process of training, and to reflect on our capacity-building process, we designed again "Ability of College Students Questionnaire", from the three main capacity-building:schools, teachers, students proceed, and the three perspectives:training environment, training content, training methods. We conducted a follow-up survey on the learning ability of students to participate in survey of 600 college students, and in-depth analyzed the survey results conducted, and explored the culture of learning capacities of students specific problems. For the culture environment, all kinds of hardware support is provided, but philosophy of education and the school learning environment leave much to be desired. For the training details, we focused our mind on traditional learning ability, but ignored collaboration skills and information technology capacity. For training method, on the one hand, teaching is the most direct means of training, but also is the weakest link, on the other hand, students generally agreed that learning ability is innate, or just teachers know how to train it, and lack of training self-awareness.Next, based on the practical problems for learning ability training and the latest scientific theories of learning sciences, we build a strategy for students learning ability.We think teaching designed by educators provides a learning environment, which stimulate internal motivation externally, and make students have better learning ability and better development. Schools should provide a variety of training support from the hardware facilities, curriculum and teacher training. Because teachers are the main actors in learning abilities training, they should enhance their own literacy, build up a correct teaching philosophy, and strive to make their teaching suitable for students. Students are the principals in learning, so they should make use of all good factors in the learning environment, consciously develop their own learning abilities.The innovation of this study are:First, trace the origin, This paper discusses the concept of learning science and new knowledge formed the basis of this concept of learning, teaching, giving students'learning abilities new content. The second is this paper research the learning abilities training with the latest theoretical results in learning sciences, and provide several measures, which are more targeted, adaptable and practical.
