Research On College Students' Law Belief Education Of Shan Xi Province

College students are the future of China, the hope of our nation and thefuturebuilders of socialism. The university learning period is a key period of formingpersonal outlook on life and values, cultivating the law belief pertinently, with practicalsignificance to Chinese legal process. The law belief of university students contains thehighest expectations of college students to laws; the pursuit of the values of laws,including justice, democracy, equality, freedom, human rights, efficiency, order, etc; andthe final ideal to realize human being's happy life. It possesses common phenomena ofthe lack of modem socialist law belief. Meanwhile it is different from general publiclaw consciousness with its own characteristics.In order to have a thorough search to the current situation and major problems ofcollege students'law belief, I carried on a questionnaire survey to 3,200 collegestudents in 11 universities, including Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology,Xi'an Jiaotong University, Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, NorthwestUniversity of Politics and Law, etc. In this research, 3200 questionnaires have been sentout and 3047 withdrawn, with the recovery rate of 95.2%. Among them, 2928 areeffective, with the effective rate of 96.1%.Through the data and analysis result from the questionnaire survey about collegestudents'law belief, I start from their knowing level about laws, social practice status,the law consciousness about ruling by law, law-abiding status, equality, rightsawareness, etc; further expounds the present situation of college students'law belief;summarizes 8 basic problems reflected by the survey and draw the conclusion from the present situation of Shaanxi college students law belief that college students lack lawbelief.There are the following several reasons for college students'lack of law belief.First, the flaw of traditional law culture and the lack of modern law culture at campusshow the lack of law culture. Second, the legal system environment is not completed,which is represented by the unsound legal system, sometimes not working of the lawenforcement and frequent judicatory corruptions. Third, the theoretical obstacle formedby law belief is legal instrumentalism. Fourth, there are some problems existing incollege students themselves, such as the lack of knowledge about laws, light awarenessof laws and low self-control about emotions.Through the questionnaire survey and analysis about the lack of law belief, I putforward practical countermeasures to strengthen college students' law belief from thefour aspects: creating the atmosphere of ruling by law, optimizing education contentsand teaching mode, strengthening college students' psychological and values education,and improving university students' social practice ability. I hope this thesis can helpteach the course Thought Morals Tutelage and Legal Foundation and make acontribution to cultivating college students'law belief.
