The Study Of Volunteers' Serving Model From Institutions Of High Learning With Shandong University As The Studying Case

With the rapid development of voluntary service in China, the voluntary service of youth volunteers from institutions of high learning, with the college students as its backbone, has made significant progress in recent years. Compared with the relatively early and mature operating mode in Europe, America, Hong Kong and Taiwan, the voluntary work from institutions of high learning in China still remains at the starting stage. By means of questionnaire survey, this paper elaborates on the current situation of voluntary work, with Shandong University as the studying case, in the following aspects including the undergraduates'understanding of voluntary spirit, their organizing and operation mode, and stimulating measures. In this connection, this paper put forward a series of issues such as the hollowness of the voluntary spirit, a lack of voluntary knowledge and sense of value, deficiency of serving methods and content, the desperate need of innovation and improvement in its operation, stimulating measures and relevant rules and regulations. The analysis of the cause involves the motivation of voluntary undergraduates, the scope and thought of the college organizers, the approval and support of the whole society, and the constraint and protection from laws and regulations. In solving these issues, a set of effective working model is the determining factor of the scientific and persistent operation of voluntary work from institutions of high learning. The study of volunteers' serving model is of great significant to guide, promote and improve the content, form and quality of voluntary service.College Youth Volunteer Work embodies the meaning of serving the general public and promoting social development, and also uphold the university's responsibilities of training people, of molding and spreading culture, and of promoting the moral spirit. Its dual mission determines the College Youth Volunteer Work is unique, which is responsible for the dual functions of educating people and services the public. College student volunteers are not only the subjects undertaking specific voluntary service, but also the objects in college youth volunteer work. Its role in society, on the one hand, are college students, which are the objects of higher education and passive learners; on the other hand, they play the role of social citizen, which are the key members in social network and can understand and remode society. Corresponds to the dual role of college students volunteer and the dual functions of universities, it is the best Contacting point of the mode construction.The building of the working Model of Young Volunteers is divided into three parts, and the first is the volunteer Spirit model. Basing on the volunteer spirit "dedication, friendship, mutual aid, and progress ", this paper analysis its spiritual contentand cultural extension, and put forwards the view of "education of ethics, education knowledge, genius training "; by using social work theory, governance theory, learning organization theory, this paper trys to define volunteer work and college orientation clearly; the training of volunteer college students'value, making them internalize the spirit of the volunteers, thus enable students to achieve recognition in the spirit of improving the quality of moral and social development . The second part is the management model of the voluntary action. Basing on the process of voluntary action, this part combs and integrates the aspects of organization, operation, evaluation, motivation.What is more,to improve and enhance the quality of volunteer action, this part also talking about the concrete operational Issues of leadership, organization, recruitment, training, content of services, forms, evaluation methods, incentives, and so the concrete operational classification Issues. The third part is the improving of the regulations of volunteer work. Now in China, the relevant legislation for Volunteer is "blank", so the universities, government and social tripartite should hand in hand, promoting the perfection of laws and to build a broad platform for the work of university volunteer service to enhance and to realize the overall development.
