Construction of the rule of law is more and more in-depth in our country. However, in the process of college student affairs administration, the conflicts between the school authority and the student rights clashes constantly.College student affairs administration is facing growing challenges.Thus, it is an urgent task which we should pay more attention to thatcollege student affairs administration should be studied in the legal perspective.The basic theories of science of law, management, ideological-political education in the beginning have built the theory base for the text.First, from thepointof law, the subject status of the university in law and the legal relationship related to college student affairs administrationarefixed.Moreover, the power of the university and the rights of students in the college student affairs administration are defined.Second,from the point ofmanagement, the nature, content and features of college student affairs administration are introduced.Third, from the point of ideological-political education, educational objectives, educational philosophy and educational methods mainly are studied.WithThe basic theoriesare proposed,the college student affairs administration is analyzedfrom the three following perspectives which are achievements, problems and causes.First of all, the achievement of the college student affairs administration in our countryis stressed from legislation, legal awareness and management.Second, the issues from such three aspects are also pointed out.(1) The;unclear boundary between the school authority and student rights leads to the existence of conflicts.(2) The conflicts between authority and rights bring about lots of actual disputes.(3) When these disputes occurred, there are some problems in the solutions of the both sidesThird, the root causes which based on the analysis to the questionsis indicated.(1) Administrators'legal awareness is weak;(2) Administrators'knowledge structures are unreasonable. Most of them have no knowledge backgrounds of education, management and law.(3) The laws, regulations and school rules which have been used are not regulate and perfectenough. Especially there are legal deficiencies existed in some aspects. .Even if there are laws and regulations, most of them are general, and have no specificguidance, whichlead tomuch confusion in the implementation process. (4) The procedure is not standardized. Either the formulation or the implementation of school ruleslacks the participation of studentswhich is not in line with the spirit of the procedural law.(5)The feedback, supervision mechanism and relief system have not been fully established.There is no effective supervisionin the process of formulation and implementation of school rules. When students' rights have been violated, there is no effective way to ask for relief.(6)The legal consciousness of students and their parents are weak. On the one hand they have no awareness of using the law to maintain their rights. The other hand, the proper treatment cannot be accepted in the process of solving the disputes.and some of them take drastic measures to reflect, which brings detrimental effectsanddifficulties to student affairs administration.Finally, five suggestions on student affairs administration in the legal perspective are raised.(1)The legal awareness of administratorsshould be strengthened andtheir knowledgestructureshould beoptimized, meantime.the knowledge structure of management should be optimized through recruitment training, etc.(2) The construction of laws, regulations and school rules should be strengthened from developing principles and procedures tobring abouta legal basis instudent affairs management.(3)The normative of college student affairs administration should be strengthened from the aspects of the substantive law and procedural lawto achieve the goal that the laws must be observed.(4) Establish a wide range of legal relief system.(5) Legal education for students should be strengthened.
