This paper taking the market demand as guide, combining the core competency theory, conducts the research to the vocational students'information technology ability and the staff information capacity in current employment market, obtains the vocational students'information technology core competency constitution. It aims to train employment personnel with general adaptation to various professional information literacy demands and strain information age transform unceasingly, also to research and form the composition of the core competence for vocational students' employment.At present, the vocational information technology education has not yet unified systematic planning, the curriculum content is decided independently by the school and the degree of freedom is big. Students'information technology ability is irregular, even has the phenomenon which comes apart with the market employment demands. What kind of information technology ability should the vocational colleges and universities teach to make students for future career and post? What kind of information technology ability does the employment market require?Based on the core competency theory, this paper puts forward the information technology core competency concept. In the research skills, it uses questionnaire survey, literature search, case study and so on, it separately carries on the questionnaire survey to the vocational teachers and students, it also analyzes the present situation and the existing problems of vocational students'information technology ability. Meanwhile, it uses the literature search to induce 21 enterprise staff information technology abilities which the present academic circle pays attention to and prove the questionnaire investigation of the 21 item abilities are actual identity. Through the interview to the employment market, knowing the actual content on he employment information in different jobs and the staff information technology ability that the enterprises request, and summarizes five stages of the information work in the employment market. Based on the comparative analysis carries on to each survey result, and it proposes the constitution to the employed vocational students'information technology core competence, including five first-level targets,15 second-level targets, the two targets comprising the ability reflect the students' information technology ability and the ability to adapt to the post. Finally, through the typical students'questionnaire, it has confirmed the validity of conclusions of practical application.
