In our daily life, "Health"has become the main standard of harmonious society and happy family, however, the main part is the mental health. College Students as a special social group and their mental health problems is always of concern. Besides the leisure-time physical activity is also the main part of campus life. Therefore, it is significance of research on the relation between Physical Exercise and Mental Health to make proper understanding of mental health in College Students.A "physical activity rating scale" to 997 Hunan college students , which is divided into three levels of leisure physical activity , and then the subjects were investigated by using "mental health scale" and " Description of self- Physical Questionnaire" . The results are as follow:Firstly, Compared with differences in the demographic characteristics of the sample variables on the mental health scale, the loneliness and anxiety of human factor were highly significant differences, which indicate college students in dealing with the interpersonal relationship is quite different and there is a certain relation with leisure-time physical activity.Secondly, the frequency, intensity and duration of Physical exercise or interaction corresponding with concomitant probability are less than 0.05, which indicate self-description scores on different levels of physical exercise have caused significant effects on mental health.Thirdly, Different levels of physical exercise have significant differences on mental health factors, which it mainly reflect different effects on each factor of mental health, including positive and negative effects.Fourthly, there are significant differences in each factor effects on self-description of different levels of physical exercise, which reflect in many aspects. Firstly, there is no significant difference in unity, strength, appearance and physical activities. Secondly, there is significant difference in health, obesity, and endurance. Thirdly, there is highly difference in exercise capacity, flexible, self-esteem and coordination.Fifthly, The level of self-description physical tests and analysis results as an intermediate variable model shows leisure-time physical activity affect the mental health of students through an intermediary variables and this effect is achieved by partial of mediating effect.
