The City of Changde in Hunan Province is located in a very important place geographically, with a historical culture. It is the birthplace of Xiang Chu culture. Changde's native language is rich in resources, and it strongly represents the development and utilization of the local resource adoption, as well as an important reference to other cities. This article deeply analyzes and studies the cases of utilization in local resource in high school, mainly from the perspectives of the contents of local resource, the necessity of its development and utilization, and methods of exploitation and specific cases.This article firstly describes the major contents of Changde local resource, and selects the local historical figures and monuments, customers and folklore, and local folk art, which are mostly Changde people are familiar with and proud of. Unfortunately, these resources in nowadays are often overlooked, even slowly being forgotten. These resources are strange for the new generation growin up in the Internet age. The new generation is lack of love for their homeland. Meanwhile, the teachers are rarely linking such resources with teaching practice, which is apparently a waste of resources. Development and utilization of good local resources will enable students not just to more quickly and easily understand the local culture, but also enrich their knowledge and then build up more connection with their homeland. However, simply accumulating local resources or standard classroom teaching will not be effective, and the ability growth of students will consequently be insignificant. As a result of that, the second section focuses on exploring the needs of development and utilization of local resources and the current gap in current teaching situation, and then deeply analyses the existing problems in development and utilization of local resources.The third section, as the core part of this article, mainly focuses on the demonstration of the development and utilization of local resource, showing how to introduce the local resource to the students by means of in-class teaching, school-based elective courses and student case study, and then guide the students to learn and organize the contents of resources, stimulate their initiatives of exploring local culture and then deeply study the hidden problems in local resources. The most important feature of this article is that the author, as a front-line teacher, has a direct and in-depth understanding of the students, teaching materials and curriculum provision, thus being able to apply the theory to practice and list many examples from different points of view to demonstrate the modes of developing and utilizing local resources.
